| Saturday, Oct. 20: Was perfect top-down tour of two-lanes to French Lick, Indiana, for gardens & hotel tour of the historic $30-million restoration of the 1902-built West Baden Springs Hotel, then lunch out, and a stop at the equally perfect French Lick Hotel/Casino. Saturday, Oct 27: Squadron joined SIR BRIT group for the run up to Red Hills State Park & lunch there, in Illinois...very pretty; 4 MGBs, (including an MGB/GT), a TR8, a Jag, & us...then to antique shops in Mt.Carmel before heading home! Planned: Weather permitting: Sunday, Nov. 18...Fall Colour Tour , along SRs & CRs, through Chrisney, Troy, Cannelton, looping past the Civil War Cotton Mill... Rocky Point Marina, then into those hills & curves of Hoosier Ntl Forest, stopping at Rome, on through Derby to Magnet for lunch at the famous Ohio Riverfront Betty Ray's Landing taverna, then on up the hills to Buzzards Roost Overlook, before heading back west to take the curves of SR62 for the run back home, before dark! Bring your cameras! Stay tuned for details, soon! Then, thats it until New Years Day. Tuesday, Jan. 1st, 2008: The Second Annual Top-Down Tour-of-the Town: gloves, caps, long under- wear...followed by a warming mid-afternoon lunch in town...1/1/'07 was 70 miles of twisties: McCutchanville, Darmstadt, Cynthiana, past USI, down into the bottoms through Dogtown, then finally Downtown for lunch at RiRa Irish Pub. A Saturday, March, 2008: Squadron Tour through Kentucky: the Audubon Museum, home to the world's largest collection of original John James Audubon paintings, at Audubon State Park in Henderson, then wooded two-lanes to Owensboro & lunch at historic Colby's, Down- town, and back to Indiana via the world-class Natcher suspension bridge! |
